What level of experience should I have to attend?

A person at any level will benefit from attending the Horizon Summit.

Can children attend?

Yes, if they are sixteen or older and mature. (Children fourteen and older can attend if accompanied by an adult.)

Can I give someone a gift of the Horizon Summit?

Yes. You can either register for them or purchase a Horizon Gift Certificate.
Note: If you register in someone else's name and don't want them to know, use your own email address when registering them.

Does the Horizon Alumni Discount apply to the Summit?

No.

When do I choose my classes?

Your Summit Registration admits you to all classes and the keynote address. You can decide which classes you wish to attend when you come. Each class is on a first-come, first-serve basis, but there is rarely a problem finding seating in any class.
Appointments for Portfolio Reviews, Camera Functions One-on-One, and Lightroom instruction should be made when registering. Additional fees apply.

Can classes be cancelled?

Individual classes may be cancelled in unusual circumstances. Multiple classes are held during each session so you will always have a choice of classes for each class period.

Can I sign up for more than one portfolio review?

You can sign up for as many reviews you like with whichever instructor(s) you choose. Time availability is limited and listed on the registration page. First come, first served.

What exactly is "Camera Functions One-on-One?"

Dain Simons reviews all of the major operational features (and minor ones if you want) of your particular camera and answers questions you may have in a 20-minute session.

During the breaks between classes what can participants do?

You can browse the trade show tables of Hunts Photo (one of the leading camera dealers in the northeast) for the latest in equipment; enjoy the awesome WIEP (Wilmington International Exhibition of Photography); sign up for a Portfolio Review and/or Camera Functions One-on-One sessions; hang out with instructors and fellow participants.

If I register but cannot attend, what is your refund policy?

If you contact us via email no later than Feb. 9, 2013, you will be refunded 60% of all fees paid. After that, no fees are refunded.

Should I bring my laptop?

It will not be needed for any Summit activities, unless you want to use your laptop for a portfolio review or one-on-one Lightroom instruction.

What clothing should I wear?

Casual clothes, suitable for the season.

Where is lunch eaten? Are vegetarians accommodated? What about dinner?

Lunch will be catered and eaten in Arsht Hall (the Summit venue). Vegetarian food will be available. For dinner, there are many restaurants in the area.

How far is Wilmington from nearby cities? What public transportation is available?

Philadelphia: 33 miles; Baltimore: 72 miles; Washington, DC: 110 miles; NYC 130 miles. The Summit location is 1.5 miles off I-95. Amtrak and bus station are less than 3 miles away; Philadelphia International Airport is 23 miles.

Once I arrive, do I need a car?

No, all classes are held in the same building.

What lodging is nearby?

There are many local hotels/motels. We have made arrangements at a special rate at the nearby Sheraton (see lodging page).

Are facilities handicapped accessible?

Yes.
