Diane brings decades of picture editing experience to a critique of each student's pictures. She identifies your strengths and suggests areas for improvement. In the process, you learn to see your images more objectively, which is an essential step in taking your work to a higher level. Diane also demonstrates how to edit for maximum impact, whether you're choosing images for presentation, creating a web site, submitting pictures for publication, entering contests, building your files, and more. She shows how thoughtful and rigorous editing--which involves picture selection, sequencing, and juxtaposition--adds power to your work. Diane discusses potential commercial opportunities for your work in diverse markets such as editorial (newspapers, magazines and books), commercial (calendars, greeting cards, and ads), fine art (exhibits and art shows), and stock photography. She demystifies the process and explains how to reach buyers in those markets. By the end of the day, your ability to critique and edit your own work will be enhanced, and you'll have a better idea what your next steps as a photographer should be.
