Iconic coastline, coastal range mountains, vineyards, whitewater rivers, giant redwoods and our only volcanic national park. We’ll photograph all of that plus people we meet along the way, historic towns, abandoned buildingsand lighthouses. PLUS, a 3 hour African-style safari.

Our route starts (and ends) in San Francisco. We do a big loop up the coast and down the mountains and valleys, averaging about 120 miles of driving per day. [See map. Route is subject to change depending on weather and other factors.]

This is an ideal time of year for photography: no summer crowds, limited precipitation and comfortable temperatures (mostly 50°—75°). We shoot from early morning until early evening (and a possible night shoot). The pace is not strenuous, but we'll do some moderate hiking. We will probably go whitewater rafting...you can opt out if you like.

There is group and one-on-one instruction. Three detailed critiques will help take your photos to the next level.

We meet in San Francisco on Sunday morning and end the following Sunday at the airport.

Note: Non-photography companions may participate at a 20% discount off the regular registration fee. (Non-photographers do not count toward the 12 person maximum.)
