Washington's Olympic Peninsula offers a distinctive combination of stunning landscapes: a rainforest, majestic mountains, rocky coastlines with tidal pools, waterfalls, and flowers and birds galore. We'll also photograph people we meet along the way, colorful and historic towns, ferries, boats and marinas, abandoned buildings, forts and lighthouses and some architectural highlights of Seattle and elsewhere. Plus the Boeing factory, said to be the largest interior building in the world. Our route will start (and end) in Seattle and then move west and north. We'll average about 100 miles of driving per day.

This is an ideal time of year for photography: no summer crowds, moderate precipitation (but some rain and fog are virtually guaranteed) and comfortable temperatures (45°—70°). We shoot from early morning until early evening (plus a night shoot). The pace is not strenuous, but we'll be doing some moderate hiking.

There is group and one-on-one instruction. Among other things, Steve demonstrates the use of flash in different situations, including night shooting. Three detailed critiques will help take your photos to the next level.

We will meet in Seattle on Sunday for lunch.

Optional: If at least four people are interested, they can take a one hour balloon ride (weather permitting and if pilot(s) available). There is an extra $300 fee/person for this. Those remaining on terra firma will photograph the balloon(s) taking off, etc.

Note: Non-photography companions may participate at a 25% discount off the regular registration fee. (Non-photographers do not count toward the 12 person maximum.)
