This workshop will help demystify the art of studio lighting for both people and objects. Lou begins with a review of all the essentials for lighting in the studio and then takes you to the next level of proficiency. Specific topics covered are: basic lighting tools (flash, hot lights, ambient light); how to control lights with umbrellas, soft boxes, reflectors, flags, etc.; the use of props and backgrounds; and composition and posing. Lou also discusses how to "see light" and artistic self-expression in the studio. Location: Manhattan (Lou Manna Studio @ 126 Fifth Ave.), New York Cost: $375.00 Experience: Familiarity with all basic camera functions and at least three years of active picture taking. Some experience with studio lights desirable but not required. Equipment: Any DSLR. Optional Equipment: A laptop for downloading images and a tripod.
