To those who are new to the world of Photoshop, this introduction takes the fear out of getting started and learning the basics. Joe will explain the fundamental characteristics of digital images and image manipulation, and will demonstrate the basic tools, including: - Sizing and cropping for prints, monitors and email
- Lighting and darkening, controlling contrast
- Color manipulation and enhancement
- Cloning, healing brushes, and other basic retouching techniques
- Simple adjustment using "layers"
- Red eye correction
- Pros and cons of shooting "Raw" vs. "JPEG" file formats
This workshop provides step-by-step instructions and practical photographic applications. You'll come away from this class with the ability to do basic image manipulation and with a foundation for moving to the next step in Photoshop. (Instruction is given in Photoshop CS4, which can readily be applied to CS2 & CS3.) Note: The next step in Photoshop is Joe's class: "Making Your Images Sparkle," which is given on the Sunday following this Saturday class.
