ITINERARY
We reserve the right to alter the itinerary because of weather, migration patterns or any other reason we deem in our guests' best interests.
Day 1 - Arusha
Late evening arrival in Arusha, Tanzania
Overnight: Dorobo Camp
Days 2, 3 - Tarangire National Park
Travel southwest to Tarangire National Park. Elephants eland, lesser kudu, impala, zebra, gazelles, buffalo, wildebeest, leopard and a wide variety of birds…plus towering Baobab trees.

Day 4 - Lake Manyara National Park
Traveling west, to Lake Manyara National Park,home to 300+ species of birds including Flamingoes and Crowned Cranes. We may also see leopards, elephants, hippos, giraffes, and possibly lions resting in trees.
Overnight: Private Camp
Day 5 - 6 Visit with the Hadzabe
The Hadzabe, a group of hunter/gatherers, reside in the Yaida Valley. We’ll discover time-tested and still used methods of hunting and gathering. We’ll visit their bush camps and go on a hunting and or gathering trek into the bush.

Day 7 - Drive to Ngorongoro Crater
Overnight: Private Camp
Day 8 - Ngorongoro Crater
Explore and photograph the crater, the world’s largest unbroken caldera…and home to 25,000 large animals, including the black rhino and black-mane lion. Colorful flamingoes and water birds surround the soda lake on the crater floor.

Day 9 - Olduvai Gorge & Lake Ndutu
Drive through Maasai lands, stop at Olduvai Gorge, part of the famous Leakey discovery of early hominids. Visit the Olduvai Gorge interpretive museum, then on to the Ndutu Safari Lodge (next to Ndutu Lake) that lies under a canopy of Acacias.

Day 10 - Ndutu & Ndutu Safari Lodge
Photograph and explore area wildlife and landscapes.

Day 11, 12 - Soitorgoss Wilderness Area
We continue to Soitorgoss Wilderness area, along the Grumeti River (a personal Cox favorite) on the northeastern edge of the Serengeti. Maasai and Dorobo guides will take us on hikes.
Overnight: Private Camp
Day 13 - Soitorgoss Wilderness Area
Fly from Soitorgoss Wilderness Area to Arusha, with possible views of Ol Donyo Lengai, Mt. Meru and Mt. Kilimanjaro. Afternoon in Arusha, then head to the airport for the return trip.

Jon Cox is a wildlife and nature photographer steeped in the digital world. He has led 14 workshop/safaris at locations as diverse as Africa, Antarctica, South America, and in U.S. National Parks. Jon teaches at the University of Delaware, where he received a Masters in fine arts. He is the photographer/author of Digital Nature Photography (2003) and Close-up Digital Nature Photography (2005) which have been widely recognized in the trade press as superlative introductions to the subject. Jon serves is a regular contributor to Digital Camera Magazine.
